The diet rules are very simple, don’t eat too much and don’t eat too little. What many people do not realize however is the reasons behind both rules. Here is a look into why you should avoid eating too much.
Eating too much can cause quite a few problems, even if you are constantly eating something healthy. Calories stack up a lot when it comes to eating too much and if you gain too many calories in one day all those extra calories turn straight into fat. This means your diet has obviously failed.
When you eat too much, you’ll not only find yourself gaining more weight. You will also find that you are at risk for more heart issues, for diabetes, for hypertension problems and for high cholesterol levels as well.
Some foods are very healthy for you, such as bananas, but if you eat 20 bananas a day, you will find that you are gaining weight rather than losing it.
Here are some tips on typical ways a person might eat too much:
Say you are about to attend a party and you know there is going to be a lot of food that that is less than desirable for your diet. Your answer is to eat a certain amount of high fiber foods before going. You could choose low-calorie veggies like a salad or a plate of mixed fruit. This helps you to feel less hungry so that you don’t eat as much at the party.
Say you are craving a comfort food. We all have comfort foods that we really like to eat when our mood is down. If this sounds like something you do, you can still do it but eat less portions of it. Instead of choosing to eat a whole row of your favorite cookies, choose just one or two. This will help to cut down on the calories while still allowing you to have to food you love so much.
Say you are a fast eater. Did you now that not chewing your food correctly can actually make you gain more weight? It’s true. No, you don’t have to chew your food 35 times before you swallow it but you should chew it up enough to swallow it easily.
Say you are a snacker. It’s okay to eat 3 big meals a day or 6 small ones. Usually those who eat 6 small meals a day are called snackers. If you’re snacker, it would be a good idea to make sure all 6 of your meals are proportioned. If they are not, you could be eating too much and you could be gaining some unnecessary weight.
Dieting can be hard and even though the rules are very clear, it doesn’t necessarily mean that everything is that clear. If you are trying to lose some weight, just follow these tips and remember to drink plenty of water. Many times, we you’ve already eaten and it’s not time to eat again but you are hungry, you can satisfy your hungry cravings with water.
